A new gentle piece for solo cello with piano accompaniment.
Composed with Grade 5-6 players in mind, this work prioritises musicality, tone, and phrasing over technical display.
The cello line is lyrical and sustained, sitting comfortably in first to fourth position with opportunities for expressive vibrato and cantabile bowing.
The piano part is integral to the piece.
It creates the mood, harmonic colour and momentum, forming a true duo with the cello rather than a simple support.
Ideal for concerts, festivals, and exams where a sensitive, musical performance is wanted.
